Is the colder weather making it harder for you to stick to your movement routine? We know we want to maintain our habits throughout the colder season so we 1. stay feeling good physically and mentally, 2. prevent disease/illness, and 3. (let’s face it) look good come beach season. It’s a slow drip, and there is no better time than now to start, or to continue.
Here are our 3 tips to make it easier so you keep to your habits:
1. Set up your clothes the night before and get dressed first thing when you wake up. Make sure they are warm, and you have layers. Bundle up, put a hat and gloves on if you need. If you lay in bed thinking about how cold it will be, you’re less likely to go do it, or will waste time and be late. Take that obstacle away and dress yourself appropriately.
2. Warm up your house or office a bit more in the morning and midday. Set your thermostat to warm up a bit more 30 minutes before you want to wake up. Keep your office a tad warmer so a midday walk sounds refreshing.
3. Embrace the cold! Any level of cold therapy helps our body adapt and respond to stress better. The sooner you get your body moving, the sooner it will warm up! Stop thinking about it and get yourself up and going.
